Earlier in June, Steven attended RailsConf 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland. This was his third RailsConf and it once again proved to be a worthwhile experience with interesting talks and many opportunities for networking in the professional Rails development community. The big announcement was the nearly-ready Rails 3. We are now starting to build our new projects on the Rails 3 stack. (It may be worth upgrading old systems. Contact us to discuss the benefits of Rails 3.)

RailsConf reminds us why Ruby is such a special language why it has attracted the Rails community which is actually leading the state of the art in web and mobile development. The Ruby on Rails community continues strike a balance between open source public-spiritedness and a no-nonsense business orientation with an emphasis on craftsmanship and professional development.

There are always growing pains but we look forward to another great year working in this technology stack and the community that supports it.
